Bronson Arroyo is Good

I'm currently watching the D'Backs broadcast of their game against the Reds, and their announcers are currently blasting the Pirates hard for dumping Bronson Arroyo, who's currently throwing a three-hitter:

Mark Grace: That juggernaut that was the Pirates, they didn't need any more pitching.

Other Guy: Well, they did have Josh Fogg.

MG: Kip Wells.

OG: Ryan Vogelsong.

MG: Joe Beimel.

Ow! Make it stop. It's painful how right they are.

I had a strange dream last night, and in it I was pissed because I starter Tom Gorzelanny on my fantasy team and he gave up 7 runs in the first three innings. I hope I'm not clairvoyant...

And then there's Chris Young
Littlefield also wanted to get rid of Snell!

He's too small. He'll lack stamina. He can't this or that....

mark grace
he's always seemed like a pretty funny guy.

i remember when he played for arizona and they were getting blown out, so they let him pitch an inning.  he got up there and did a spot on impression of former bucco mike fetters, pre-pitch head snap and all.  fetters was in the bullpen laughing his head off.

Grace
I think I've watched three D'Backs games already this year. They're my new favorite non-Pirates team because their young players are so exciting and because Brandon Webb and Eric Byrnes are fun to watch. Anyway, it seems like Grace is becoming one of baseball's better announcers, as the kind of play-by-play guy who's a little bit nuts and just wants to show up at your party to entertain people and drink all your beer. (There isn't an equivalent in Pittsburgh, but it's definitely a broadcaster type - Mark Grant in San Diego comes to mind.)

Anyway, in that one major league inning he pitched, he allowed a homer to David Ross, so every time Ross came up last night, Grace would describe him as "the greatest hitter of all time." He went on and on about how Ross is a better hitter than Ruth, Mantle, or Bonds. This wasn't ha-ha funny, but it was still funny.
