Community Projection: Jason Bay
UPDATE: The Bay projections are now closed.
Obviously, this is a tough one. A plurality of readers think that Bay will be the Pirates' most productive hitter. Of course, Bay could be the Bucs' most productive hitter this year and still be nowhere near as good as he was in '06 and '05.
Let me know what you think in the comments by guessing Bay's 2008 average, on-base percentage, and slugging.
Here are Bay's career numbers.
The Jose Bautista projections are open. Jack Wilson is closed. Here are the results.
| NAME | POS. | COMMUNITY | ZiPS |
| Adam LaRoche | 1B | .280/.351/.509 | .272/.348/.492 |
| Freddy Sanchez | 2B | .313/.355/.454 | .298/.340/.415 |
| Jack Wilson | SS | .272/.324/.392 | .261/.313/.361 |
Wow, I'm with the community here. ZiPS just hates Wilson. I know he's a middle infielder entering his 30s, and that he wasn't really better than that projection in either '05 or '06, but I can't believe that his '07 doesn't mean anything.

Has anyone looked down their list so far to see our collective team so far? Yikes.

JBay
The bounceback, but not as far as we'd like.
270/370/470
Though if he's going to continue to watch strike 3 go by with runners on, all bets are off.
