So Apparently...

"Ken Tremendous" of Fire Joe Morgan is now claiming he is Michael Schur, the guy who plays Dwight's cousin Mose on The Office. He also wrote or co-wrote a lot of the best episodes of the show: "Traveling Salesmen / The Return," "The Negotiation," "Branch Closing," "The Job"... wow.

This is so weird.

Ken Tremendous=Mose=my mind blown
I had exactly the same reaction to the news. And I'm distraught at the fact that they aren't just regular dudes (all TV comedy writers) which I guess makes sense, since their writing is genius, but it takes away a little bit of the amazingness of the site, at least in my eyes. I guess I wish he really did work at Fremulon Insurance, or better yet, live in his mom's basement. Would that make me feel more vindicated? Maybe.

The FJM guys
They've said they worked in entertainment before. Since Tremendous had a spot writing the Scorecard in Sports Illustrated a few months back, it's been clear for a while that they (or, at the very least, KT) are pretty well connected.

I'm not surprised he's a TV writer...
but I am surprised he writes for one of about two TV shows I actually like.

Which sounds like I'm dissing FJM...
but that's not how I mean it.

No, I get what you mean
I really think the whole thing is entirely surreal.

Madness
Seriously. MOSE. My mind is still blown.

Meh.
I don't read FJM, and I don't really like The Office, so I remain unmoved.

What he said...
I've been to FJM once and viewed 3 minutes of the "Office" ...Ditto Vlad's post...

Scott Adams of Dilbert fame
did work at Pacific Gas and Electric (I believe this was the name) and had a cubicle while he wrote and drew Dilbert. He actually kept his job after he became rich and famous!

How is this Surprising?
Adams worked at Pac Bell (the telecom company), and he only kept his job very briefly after Dilbert was picked up.

I don't get why the fact that FJM is written by writers is so surprising? Because they were professional writers? A TV writer in Hollywood is not exactly a celebrity or superstar. It's just a job, and not even a very well-paying one most of the time.

FJM is great, though, and I am glad they're just keeping it up same as ever.

I guess it's not weird...
if you're not a fan of the Office. For me, it's weird because it's a show I actually like and a totally unrelated blog I read.

If you want to be techincal about it...
...I'm a professional writer (though not for a popular sitcom).

Everybody has to do something for a living, no?
