Bucs Lose to Boston, 5-3

Jason Bay made a couple of mistakes - one seemingly caused by the Florida sun - and the Bucs lost to Daisuke Matsuzaka and the Red Sox today, 5-3. Bryan Bullington allowed only one run in two innings but took the loss, which is just karma for allowing five runs and taking the win a couple days ago. James Boone - who I didn't even know was in camp - went 2-for-2 with a double, and Steve Pearce hit his second homer of the spring. If I've got my math right, Pearce is now hitting .385/.429/1.429 this Spring. I know it doesn't mean much or maybe anything, but it adds to my annoyance that he's not likely to break camp with the team.

Here's the box.

They often bring over guys from the minor league camp, especially for road games.

Boone
I didn't realize he was even aware that we had camp in the spring...I had just been reading about him being a candidate for a breakout season as long as he can stay healthy, then I see him show up in the box.  And of course Pearce is mashing...he's got a heck of a bat.  Not that we need that bat on our team, of course because, well, we have, um....you know, those, uh, 2-3 guys who sometimes can maybe hit a little or something.
