Here's something for the thread below. Signing Garciaparra would make a ton of sense for the Pirates - he's the only third baseman left on the free agent market who's a potential middle-of-the-order, impact bat. Signing him would be a refreshingly high-risk, high-reward move for the Pirates.
Whether he'd be willing to play third for the Pirates is open to question, but I'm still glad I'm reading this article about Nomar instead of Wes Helms or Scott Spiezio.
Further down the article, the Pirates' ticket sales are up, which, again, could be good news, or it could be no news at all.
