Chris Young

Jim Baker of Baseball Prospectus likes Chris Young to win the Rookie of the Year award in the AL. Young currently leads all rookies in VORP. At this point, his competition includes Joe Mauer and Jesse Crain of the Twins, Aaron Hill and Gustavo Chacin of the Jays, Huston Street of the A's, and Chris Shelton, who's 8th among AL rookies in VORP despite only having 99 plate appearances. What would happen in Pittsburgh if Young and Shelton finished one-two in ROY balloting? I'd love to see Kevin McClatchy and Dave Littlefield try to spin that one.
