Pittsburgh vs. Philadelphia, 21 August 2005

Mark Redman (5-13, 4.77) vs. Eude Brito (0-0, 0.00). What happened to the Phillies' rotation? They're making me do all this research... anyway, Brito is, like Robinson Tejeda, a live-armed Dominican. Here's a Baseball America profile of Brito. He apparently throws a mid-90s fastball that sinks, as well as a good changeup and slider. He has never actually been very good, and he turned 27 on Friday. The fact that he'll even be pitching with the Phillies is probably due partly to their lack of depth at AAA and partly due to his stuff. Today's start is his major league debut.
