Pittsburgh vs. Colorado, 9 August 2005

Dave Williams (8-8, 4.32) vs. Jose Acevedo (2-1, 4.29). Ah, the Rockies - the team whose hitters aren't even good enough to be on your fantasy team even though they play at Coors Field. Jose Acevedo shouldn't be on your team, either. You may remember his thoroughly unmemorable stint with the Reds; the Pirates teed off against him last year. He's a righty borderline-junkballer who hasn't played much this year because he was pitching for Class AAA Colorado Springs for a while and because he was on the DL with a groin injury. He gives up lots of homers - 30 in the admittedly homer-friendly Great American Ballpark last year - so watch for that ERA to rise.
