Pirates Sign Jorge Vasquez

Here's a nifty little signing. Jorge Vasquez is a right-handed reliever who, if ability to pitch were really the only consideration, might win a spot in the Pirates' bullpen ahead of the Victor Santoses and Ryan Vogelsongs and Giovanni Carraras and Terry Adamses. Vasquez has 377 strikeouts in 312 minor league innings, and he pitched pretty well for the Braves and for Class AA Mississippi, although he got pelted at Class AAA Richmond for some reason (probably sample size, since he kept striking batters out there). He evidently brings a pretty good assortment as well. The Braves got him from the Royals for Eli Marrero and cash.
