Braves Considering Trade For Rafael Soriano

FOX Sports reports. This is significant because Soriano is basically Mike Gonzalez minus the good breaking ball and minus the left-handedness. Other than that, they're similar - nasty relievers who throw hard and have scary injury histories. The price for Soriano is much lower than the apparent price for Gonzalez, too - the M's apparently want mediocre starter Horacio Ramirez. There's no way I'd do that deal if I were the M's - you could get better results by just moving Soriano into the rotation - but that doesn't mean they won't do it. If they do, we can probably forget about Adam LaRoche.
