Zach Duke looked somewhat better yesterday against the Devil Rays, at least until his fourth inning, when he got pelted. He didn't strike anyone out, but he didn't walk anyone either, and he mostly threw strikes. He seems reasonably satisfied with his progress:
"I felt really good for three innings then kind of tired out in the fourth," Duke said. "I'm still trying to get my muscle memory back from last season, but that's what spring training is for."
The Pirates play against the Yankees and Tigers today. Ian Snell and Paul Maholm will start. Roberto Hernandez will pitch for the first time this spring.
