The Pirates sent catcher Paul Chiaffredo, utilityman J.J. Furmaniak, outfielder Ray Sadler, and pitchers Marty McLeary and Jorge Vazquez to minor league camp.
No decisions are being made here, really. Vazquez and Furmaniak are the only players here who have more than an outside shot of appearing with the Pirates this season, and none of these players are on the 40-man roster. The more interesting decisions will be made within a week, as the Bucs will decide what to do with the last spots in their rotation, their bench and their bullpen. 35 players remain in camp.
