This is an unusual trade - the Dodgers have traded starter Odalis Perez, along with cash and minor league pitchers Julio Pimentel and Blake Johnson, for pitcher Elmer Dessens.
Depending on how much cash the Royals are getting, this looks like a great deal for them. Perez is a mess right now, but he's been a very solid starter in the past. And Pimentel and Johnson are both honest-to-goodness prospects, though not great ones.
