Class AAA Indianapolis: Now Chris Duffy is finally playing like a guy who deserves another shot. After a hot week, he's hitting .356/.420/.533. Has anyone else noticed that, in addition to doing less than nothing in 14 games for the Pirates, Mike Edwards isn't hitting at Indianapolis, either? Oliver Perez has mostly been fine at Indy, striking out 34 batters while walking only eight in 31 innings, but he's allowed six homers during that time.
Class AA Altoona: Does anyone else hear crickets?
Class A+ Lynchburg: Reliever David Davidson was promoted from Hickory a few days ago, and he hasn't allowed a run in his first two appearances with the Hillcats. After that, there isn't much to get excited about.
Class A Hickory: 2B Shelby Ford continues to hit well; he has an .829 OPS so far. Todd Redmond continues to mow down Sally League hitters and is starting tonight against Columbus (GA). Columbus is actually way down yonder on the Chattahoochee - I didn't realize that was a real place.
Class A Williamsport: Some of the pitchers at Williamsport are interesting - Michael Felix and Pat Bresnehan have been decent, if not overwhelming. But they may as well be letting West O'ahu do their hitting for them. They have one player with more than 50 at bats and and average above .242, and that player has an OPS of .662.
Bradenton (Rookie league): Again, there isn't much to report. Neither of the only real prospects here - OF Austin McClune and P Eric Ridener - have played all that well recently.
