-P- If anyone is still wondering what I was talking about the other day with regard to Pirate Fan Pathology (PFP) and would like an example, here's one. Dejan Kovacevic's reponse is spot on, I think.
-P- Jody Gerut still isn't ready to play. He isn't able to run yet, and it sounds pretty unlikely that he'll be ready for Spring Training.
-P- Russ Ortiz has signed with the Giants for the league minimum. (Arizona still owes Ortiz a boatload of money for 2007.) Ortiz has put up ERAs of 6.89 and 8.14 since signing a four-year, $33 million contract, a deal that is only a notch below the enormous Chan Ho Park, Darren Dreifort and Mike Hampton signings in terms of its harmfulness. (Maybe in two years I'll be writing a similar sentence about Gil Meche.)
