-P- WTM has written an open letter to Bob Nutting. One of the things I've learned in blogging this team is that attempts to respond to people who make transparently absurd arguments will usually fall on deaf ears. People who are prone to believe ridiculous promises will continue to believe them no matter what you say. But I'm glad someone is responding anyway, and it's clear from this very funny letter that the absurdity of Nutting's recent public statements isn't lost on WTM.
-P- The Pirates signed minor-league free agents Yurendell DeCaster and Vic Buttler to minor league deals and will invite them to Spring Training. Brad Lincoln, Andrew McCutchen, Neil Walker, Brian Bixler, Brent Lillibridge, and Jesse Chavez will all be at Spring Training as well.
-P- True Blue LA wonders whether this offseason's escalation in player salaries will continue.
-P- Antonio Alfonseca has signed a one-year, $1.1 million deal with the Phillies.
