Slow News Day: Torrealba Re-Signs with Rockies

-P- A couple years ago, Rockies catcher Yorvit Torrealba was supposed to have agreed to a three-year, $14 million deal with the Mets, but the Mets apparently stopped talking to Torrealba once they got Johnny Estrada, and Torrealba has now re-signed with the Rockies for a much more reasonable two years and $7.25 million.

-P- Kenny Rogers, who's in that stage of his career where he has to decide every offseason whether to sign a one-year contract or retire, has re-upped with the Tigers. No word on money, but as a 43-year-old who spent much of 2007 on the DL, he isn't a good bet to contribute.

-P- MILB.com rates Andrew McCutchen the eighth best prospect in baseball. No other Pirates are in the top 50.
