UPDATE: Still no confirmation on this, an hour later, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
Will Carroll reports (insider only) that the Twins are about to trade Johan Santana to Boston for Jon Lester, Justin Masterson, Ryan Kalish and a center fielder. We'll see what shakes out.
If this is the trade, then it's a pretty good haul for the Twins, especially if Jacoby Ellsbury is the center fielder (although it's probably actually Coco Crisp). Masterson is a big, sinker-throwing starting pitcher who pounds the strike zone, and Kalish is a very interesting hitter who's very young (and who's a long way from the big leagues).
