Tony Armas vs. Wandy Rodriguez.

Romulo Sanchez will be with the Pirates for tomorrow's game. I have to take back at least some of my exasperation with the Pirates for adding him to the 40-man last year - protecting him still probably wasn't necessary, but he has taken a nice step forward this year. The eight homers he's allowed at Class AA Altoona, though, indicate that he's probably going to get whacked in the bigs.

Anyway, Sanchez replaces Salomon Torres, who's hitting the DL with another outbreak of elbow inflammation. It's the same injury he had earlier this season, so this isn't good, and it's looking more and more like 2007 may be a lost season for Torres.

The article above also reports that Daniel Moskos has been removed from game action at Class A- State College, not because of an injury, but to address mechanical problems. As bad as the Moskos pick looked at the time, it now looks even worse. For a reliever picked fourth overall because he would move quickly, he sure is moving slowly. I actually sort of suspect that one reason for shutting him down is that his performance so far in a rookie league has been embarrassing to the team.
