Final Weekend Open Thread, 29-30 September 2007

I'll be leaving town for the night in a few hours, so I'm not sure if I'll get to post anything about tomorrow's game until after it already starts. So here's the slate for the next two days.

SATURDAY

-P- Adam Wainwright (13-12, 3.69) faces Tom Gorzelanny (14-9, 3.73) and the Bucs at 7:05 PM. Gorzelanny gets one last shot at his fifteenth win.

-P- Last night's games clarified things a little - the Cubs are now the NL Central champs, and the Brewers are out (and are still fighting for their first winning season since 1992). Arizona clinched a playoff berth by defeating the Rockies last night.  San Diego grabbed a more commanding Wild Card lead with a win and losses by the Rockies and Mets. And the Phillies took sole possession of the NL East lead.

Today, Chris Seddon faces John Maine and the Mets; the Mets have a commanding 11-0 lead in this one, so the Phillies will have to keep winning. Matt Chico faces the Phils' Adam Eaton at 3:55. Chris Young of the Padres starts against Dave Bush in Milwaukee, also at 3:55. And its Edgar Gonzalez of the D'Backs versus Mark Redman of the Rockies (yes, that Mark Redman) at 8:05.

-P- Tomorrow, it's Braden Looper against Bryan Bullington at 1:35.

Dontrelle Willis will start against Tom Glavine and the Mets at 1:10; it's Jason Bergmann and Jamie Moyer in Philly at 1:35; San Diego's Brett Tomko against Jeff Suppan at 2:05; and Doug Davis of the D'Backs against the Rockies' Ubaldo Jimenez at 3:05.
