Ian Snell vs. Rick VandenHurk in Miami at 1:10 PM. VandenHurk's not the worst young pitcher, but he doesn't have great stuff, and this is now his second season in the big leagues, and he's not really ready. He brings a fastball (which should come in in the high 80s or low 90s) and a curveball, and he's trying to work in a change. Fun fact: His real first name is "Henricus."
A couple of links before the game starts:
-P- If you haven't yet heard about this, brace yourself: Matt Wieters hit two homers in his pro debut against the Pirates' High-A affiliate.
-P- Indianapolis played two games yesterday. In the second, Andrew McCutchen reached base all five times he came to the plate. (He went 0-for-3 with a walk in the first game.)
-P- Adam LaRoche watch: he's 2-for-22 with ten strikeouts. Neither he nor Jason Bay are in the starting lineup today, which should please most of you.
