The Bucs have called up Marino Salas to take John Van Benschoten's spot on the roster. Salas was one of the pitchers acquired in the Salomon Torres trade.
I'm no great fan of Salas, but he's certainly performed well in Indianapolis, with an 0.77 ERA and 20 strikeouts against seven walks in 23.1 innings. And it's probably a good idea to get a good look at him -- he's 26 already, and he'd have been eligible for minor league free agency after the season if the Bucs left him at Indy.
(Thanks to Thunder for catching the announcement before anyone else did.)
