Jared Hughes, who has never particularly looked like a prospect since being drafted, pitched six no-hit innings against Erie. This was only the seventh Class AA start of his career. It probably means nothing, but he did get four strikeouts against one walk, he was a fourth-round pick, and he is a big guy who racks up ground balls.
Unfortunately for Hughes, Shawn Nottingham promptly gave up two runs as soon as Hughes left, and the Curve lost, 2-0.
In other minor league news, Jimmy Barthmaier was apparently yanked from his start for Indianapolis after walking his first two batters. The game recap lists an "injury delay" after that.
