Dejan Kovacevic reports that Starling Marte is coming back to action tomorrow after having hand surgery. This is good news, since I hadn't figured he'd be back for another month or so. Hopefully he can get to full strength relatively quickly.
UPDATE: Actually, he came back today and went 2-for-4. Cool. Jenifer Langosch writes that the particular kind of surgery Marte needed shouldn't have lingering effects. And actually he came back a week or two earlier than he was supposed to. I imagine the Pirates will probably send him to the Arizona Fall League to make up for the six or so weeks of lost development time.
UPDATE: I just noticed that Quinton Miller came back and pitched two innings in the Gulf Coast League yesterday, too.
