Injury News: Jose Ascanio Doesn't Need Surgery, Andrew Lambo Sprains Shoulder

A couple of injury notes:

-P- Jose Ascanio doesn't need surgery after injuring his hand. This is a good thing, I suppose, but it now looks very unlikely that Ascanio will be around as a September callup. He's out of options next year, so it will be very tough for the Pirates to figure out what to do with him. That's too bad, because he had a great arm before he got hurt. He had also pitched well in a couple rehab outings in rookie ball and at Bradenton.

-P- Also, Andrew Lambo has a sprained shoulder. It doesn't sound too serious, but it could prevent him from putting up great numbers the rest of the year.
