The Pirates have offered contracts to everyone: Garrett Jones, Casey McGehee, Joel Hanrahan, Jeff Karstens, Charlie Morton, Evan Meek, and Chris Resop. This is a good outcome. Jones might have been spared by the Pirates' inability to find a first baseman up to this point, but tendering him would have been the right move even if they had already signed one. He's a useful role player, and he's still pretty cheap.
The only other remaining player who might have been controversial is Chris Resop (after the Pirates dealt Jose Veras and agreed to terms with Jason Grilli earlier tonight), but he too should be cheap, and 10.2 K/9 pitchers don't grow on trees. Even with Veras' departure, the Pirates now have as many righty relievers as they possibly could want. It's a good problem to have.
They still could use a lefty, and biggyv in the comments notices that the Dodgers have non-tendered Hong-Chih Kuo, who has good velocity and has been dominant at times but struggled last season. He seems like Neal Huntington's type of player.
More seriously, Pedro Ciriaco and Jason Jaramillo, who weren't on the roster, were non-tendered.
