The Pirates have signed 33rd-round pick Chris Lashmet, an infielder from Northwestern, according to a team press release. They have also inked righty pitcher Joe Parsons as a non-drafted free agent out of Virginia Tech.
Lashmet was a college senior, so it's no surprise that he would sign fairly quickly. He's not likely to be a prospect. He'll probably head to State College.
