Arizona Fall League: Kyle Kaminska allows 3 runs in 1st AFL start

Hey, it's a slow time of year.

Pirates pitching prospect Kyle Kaminska, who came from the Marlins in the Gaby Sanchez / Gorkys Hernandez deal, started yesterday for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League and allowed three runs in four innings, striking out three and walking none while allowing six hits.

There isn't much we can read into this, obviously, but that's really not a completely terrible start by AFL standards. Kaminska had been pitching as a reliever in the Marlins organization, but the Pirates switched him back to starting, and he had good numbers for both Bradenton and Altoona.

Tyler Waldron relieved him and pitched a scoreless inning. Gift Ngoepe pinch-ran and scored a run.

Scottsdale will host Salt River tonight.
