Here are the results of tonight's two minor-league games.
-P- Colton Cain pitched five decent innings in Bradenton's 8-2 win over Jupiter, striking out four and walking one while allowing two runs.
Alex Dickerson went 1-for-3 with a homer and a walk and is now hitting .342/.405/.526 in his last 10 games after getting off to a slow start. That might not mean much, but it's nice to see, and the rocky start would make sense, since he's in his first full pro season and skipped West Virginia. Wes Freeman, who's also being pushed hard, hasn't been able to keep up, and his average is down to .140 after going 0-for-4 tonight.
-P- Justin Wilson walked five batters in five innings in Indianapolis' 4-2 loss to Louisville. As ever, walks continue to be Wilson's Achilles heel. The recently-demoted Jared Hughes struck out two in a scoreless inning of relief.
Jordy Mercer, who'd been in a nasty slump, went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk. Starling Marte and Matt Hague each went 1-for-5. Hague is batting .207; apparently, hits in Indianapolis aren't worth collecting. Sorry, that was mean. And it's a tiny sample size.
