Minor League Roundup: Indianapolis, Altoona Win With Some Good Relief

Slightly abbreviated schedule on Tuesday, with West Virginia off:

-P- Indianapolis beat Norfolk, 6-4. Daniel Cabrera started in a continuation of his effort to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. He didn't fare well, although he kept the damage to three runs in 3.2 IP. He gave up six hits and four walks, while fanning one. Daniel McCutchen, Tim Wood and Jose Diaz followed with four and a third scoreless innings, two and a third of it McCutchen. Doug Slaten allowed an unearned run in the 9th but got his third save. Starling Marte and Matt Hague both went 2-5 with two whiffs. Marte had a double. Jordy Mercer went 3-5, but committed two errors. Jose Morales went 2-4 with a double, and is up to .286.

-P- Altoona scored four in the first and two in the second, and won, 7-3, over Erie. Matt Curry went 1-4 with three RBIs, including a two-run HR, his first of the year. Tony Sanchez also went 1-4, with a double and a walk. Brock Holt had a double and triple in five ABs. Robbie Grossman went hitless in four trips, with one walk. Brandon Cumpton allowed all three runs in six innings, on six hits and a walk. He fanned five. Tim Alderson followed with three scoreless innings to pick up his second save. He allowed three hits and one walk, and struck out four.

-P- Bradenton lost to Charlotte, 4-1. Eliecer Navarro started and lost, allowing two runs over five innings. The Marauders' offense produced eight scattered singles. Alex Dickerson went 1-2 with two walks.
