Ryan Doumit, Twins Agree On Contract Extension

I have no idea what planet the Twins are on where it makes sense for a terrible team to sign an aging, injury-prone, no-defense catcher to a multiyear extension, but I guess that's why they pay Terry Ryan the big bucks. I guess we'll just have to wait to see the terms.

UPDATE: It's done. Two years, $7 million. Signing Doumit for two years into the future is a little strange for a team in the Twins' position, but not a ridiculous amount at all, so good for them.
