Nick Piecoro writes cites sources saying that the Pirates "don't match up well" with the Diamondbacks in a potential Justin Upton trade. Why that is isn't entirely clear. It sounds possible that the Diamondbacks want a shortstop, third baseman or starting pitcher. The Pirates don't have a ton to offer in the first two categories, and they especially don't have any good shortstops or third basemen (other than Pedro Alvarez, obviously, who won't be traded) who are anywhere near the majors. Piecoro thinks the Blue Jays might make more sense as a trading partner.
