A full slate on Saturday, except for State College, which got rained out.
-P- Indianapolis shut out Buffalo, 6-0. Jeff Locke went seven, allowing four hits and three walks, and fanning four. Dan McCutchen and Doug Slaten added a scoreless inning each, with Slaten's AAA ERA now standing at 0.27. Tony Sanchez went 2-4 with a double and his 6th HR. Chase d'Arnaud went 3-5 and Brandon Boggs 3-4, each adding a double. D'Arnaud stole three bases and now has 29 in 32 attempts.
-P- Altoona lost to New Hampshire, 5-1. Kyle McPherson lasted only four innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on eight hits. He walked none and struck out two. Nate Baker allowed two runs in two innings and Jeff Inman threw two scoreless innings. Hunter Strickland struck out the side in his only inning of work. Adalberto Santos went 3-3 with a triple and is now hitting .406.
-P- Bradenton outlasted Daytona, 9-7, as each of the first five hitters in the Marauders' order had at least two hits. Alex Dickerson went 3-3 with a double and a walk. Gift Ngoepe went 3-5 with a double, Carlos Paulino 2-4 with two doubles, Benji Gonzalez went 2-5 with a double and Mel Rojas, Jr., 2-5. Tyler Waldron gave up all seven runs, five of them earned, in six innings. Josh Poytress got the win by retiring all nine of the hitters he faced.
-P- West Virginia dropped a 2-0 decision to Lakewood. Zack von Rosenberg went six, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks, while fanning four. Ryan Hafner threw a scoreless inning in relief. Alen Hanson had a triple in four ABs and Gregory Polanco went 1-3.
-P- The GCL Pirates lost to the Braves, 7-6. Luis Urena went 2-4 with his 4th and 5th HRs. Eric Wood added his 3rd. Harold Ramirez, Stetson Allie and Candon Myles all went 2-4, with Allie and Myles each hitting a double. Allie played first, which seems to be his main position now. Axel Diaz started and allowed five runs in 2.2 IP.
-P- The DSL Pirates1 built up an 8-0 lead over the Red Sox, then survived a six-run 7th and three-run 9th to win, 10-9. The Pirates pounded out 16 hits, with Carlos Marquez leading the way by going 3-4 with a double. Ulisses Montilla went 2-3 with three walks, Daniel Arriba went 2-3 with a double, Maximo Rivera went 2-6 with a double, and Yunelky Adames and Tito Polo each went 2-4. Starter Ramon Rodriguez allowed no runs over five innings.
-P- The DSL Pirates2 beat the Yankees, 3-1, as three pitchers combined on a two-hitter. Starter Dan Urbina allowed one run on one hit and two walks, while striking out five in five innings. Eighteen-year-old infielder Gustavo Barrios, signed this year out of Colombia, went 3-4 with a double. Jose Salazar went 2-3 and Dennis Hurtarte 2-4 with a double.
