The Pirates made their signing of Jeff Karstens official and designated newly acquired Zach Stewart for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster

Per a team press release, the Pirates have made the Francisco Liriano Jeff Karstens signing official. To make room on the 40-man roster, they designated Zach Stewart for assignment. They had just acquired Stewart for Kyle Kaminska back in November.
