Baseball America ranked Pirates outfield prospect Harold Ramirez first on its list of the top 20 prospects in the New York-Penn League, while RHP Tyler Glasnow ranked second in the South Atlantic League. (Both articles require a subscription.) The two were the only Pirates minor leaguers to make the lists for these two leagues.
Ramirez ranking that high was a little surprising, as many scouts supposedly believed the Pirates overpaid when they signed him for $1.05M out of Colombia. He probably gets a lot of credit for being only 18.
It's probably not a good sign that Josh Bell failed to make the SAL list.
