Shortly after naming the Pirates' Francisco Liriano the Comeback Player of the Year, the Sporting News has named Clint Hurdle the National League Manager of the Year. The awarded resulted from a vote of NL managers. Hurdle received five votes, Atlanta's Fredi Gonzalez three and St. Louis' Mike Matheny one.
