Some tidbits from the Winter Meetings:
-P- The Bucs probably won't be getting Bronson Arroyo, Rob Biertempfel writes.
-P- The Pirates will likely go with Jordy Mercer at shortstop next year, but they're looking for a backup type. That makes sense, obviously -- Stephen Drew is the only clear upgrade left on the free-agent market, and the Pirates won't be interested in paying for him.
-P- Neal Huntington says the Pirates aren't "counting on" Gregory Polanco to take over right field next season. That doesn't preclude him from taking the job if he plays well for the first few months, however.
