The Orioles have signed Ivan DeJesus Jr. to a minor-league deal. The Pirates never gave him a shot, even though they traded for him in the Joel Hanrahan deal, and then he hit well for Indianapolis, going .319/.380/.457. He doesn't have much power and doesn't really play shortstop, so perhaps he belongs on the Island of Misfit Toys, but he still appeared to be good minor-league depth, at least.
Anyway, with De Jesus now gone and Jerry Sands perhaps on his way out as well, the Hanrahan deal now boils down to Mark Melancon and Stolmy Pimentel, which is ... well, actually, that's still great.
