The Giants have claimed pitcher Hunter Strickland from the Pirates, who designated him, along with Clint Robinson, a few days ago. It's hard to imagine the Pirates will miss Strickland much -- they clearly saw him as a promising arm, but the statistics never really were there. It's still possible to see him emerging as a reliever, but I doubt he'll make it as a starter.
