Zack Greinke, Dodgers 2-hit Pirates

USA TODAY Sports

Zack Greinke and the Dodgers two-hit the Pirates in Los Angeles tonight as the Bucs lost 3-0. Yes, it's Greinke, but the Pirates no longer entirely have cold-weather conditions to blame for their very slow offensive start. They still do have small sample size to blame, of course, but it's still annoying to see the Pirates start their season so similarly to 2012. You may recall that, last season, they also played their second series of the year in Los Angeles. In their fourth game of 2012, they were five-hit by Clayton Kershaw, who they'll face tomorrow.

But ... yes. Two hits, both singles. And the Dodgers wiped one of those off the bases when Andrew McCutchen got caught stealing in the seventh.

Anyway, Bucs Dugout whipping boy Jonathan Sanchez started the game and was passable, striking out four and walking just one in five innings while allowing three runs, including a second-inning homer by Andre Ethier on a high fastball. Jeanmar Gomez pitched three scoreless innings after that.
