Tuesday's games:
-- Jared Goedert singled with the bases loaded and no outs in the 10th to give Indianapolis a 3-2 walkoff win over Toledo. Andrew Oliver followed six shutout innings in his first outing with five in this game. He struggled in the 1st, allowing a hit and two walks, but recovered after and gave up only three hits and three walks total, while fanning five. He threw 50 of 86 pitches for strikes. Brooks Brown allowed two runs in relief, but Duke Welker finished with two scoreless innings to get the win. He allowed one hit, walked none, and fanned four. Jordy Mercer went 3-4 with his first HR, and Goedert and Brett Carroll each had two hits. Brandon Inge, playing second, went 0-4 and is now hitting .111 in his rehab. Felix Pie went 0-4 with three strikeouts and is hitting .050.
-- Andrew Lambo hit for the cycle to lead Altoona to a 14-6 laugher over Akron, highlighted by a nine-run 4th inning. Lambo singed, doubled, tripled and homered (his 2nd), in that order, in his first four ABs. He finished 4-6. Mel Rojas, Jr., also went 4-6 and added a double. Alex Dickerson went 2-4 with two doubles and a walk. Matt Curry and Stefan Welch each had a single and a double, in Welch's case his first two hits of the season. Gift Ngoepe went 1-4, getting his first hit but also striking out three times. Adalberto Santos went 1-2 with a double before exiting for a pinch hitter, for reasons unknown at this point. Starter Brandon Cumpton struggled, allowing five runs, four earned, some of it possibly the result of getting hit with a comebacker in the 5th. He departed with two out in the inning and Tim Alderson got the win with two and a third innings of relief. He allowed one unearned run.
-- Bradenton fell to 0-5 with a 6-2 loss to Charlotte. The Marauders continued to struggle defensively, committing four errors. Starter Eliecer Navarro allowed three runs in six innings. Zack von Rosenberg allowed three unearned runs in two innings, giving up three hits and a walk. Bradenton hitters fanned a dozen times.
-- West Virginia's bullpen struggled again, allowing six runs and failing to hold a two-run lead, and the Power dropped an 11-inning game to Charleston, 10-7. Starter Joely Rodriguez allowed four runs, three earned, in four innings. He gave up five hits, two of them longballs, and walked two while fanning two. Reliever Ryan Hafner had an interesting outing. After getting torched for three HRs in his first appearance, he fanned seven over three innings, while allowing just two hits and walking none. Unfortunately, with two outs in his third frame, he hit a batter and then gave up a HR to blow a two-run lead. Stetson Allie went 4-6 and Eric Wood went 4-5 with a double. Max Moroff added his first HR and two walks, and Josh Bell went 2-6 with two doubles.
