The Pirates have acquired pitcher Atahualpa Severino from the Royals for cash. Beyond the fantastic name, this isn't a particularly significant trade. Severino, a lefty, was pitching for Triple-A Omaha, where he's had nine innings this year, striking out 10 and walking six. Before 2012, he was with the Nationals (and he's actually been around long enough that he was originally signed by the Expos), where he'd had significant control issues in Triple-A. Don't expect him to make the majors, but "Atahualpa" will be a fun name to see in the Indianapolis box scores.
