Kingham makes last Bradenton start on slow day

Nick Kingham's last high A start got cut short by rain and Jose Contreras made a rehab appearance

I neglected to post a minor league thread tonight, but as it turned out, there was little to discuss. Altoona was off, West Virginia was rained out, and Bradenton's game was suspended after three.

-- Indianapolis dropped a 2-1 decision to Norfolk. Brandon Cumpton allowed nine hits and three walks over seven innings, but managed to give up only the two runs. He fanned five. Ominously, Jose Contreras made his first rehab appearance. He managed a scoreless 8th despite allowing three hits. Tony Sanchez helped out by throwing out a runner stealing. The Indians had only five hits, with Chase d'Arnaud's second HR accounting for the only run. Sanchez batted cleanup, going 1-4.

-- Nick Kingham made his final appearance for Bradenton, in a game that was suspended after three with the Marauders trailing Lakeland, 1-0. Kingham allowed two hits and fanned four. The Marauders went nine up and nine down.

-- The DSL Pirates2 got shut out, 2-0, by the Mets1. Starter Eduardo Vera allowed no runs and no hits in three innings. He walked one and struck out four. Michael de la Cruz went 1-2 with a walk, Bealyn Chourio went 1-2 with two walks, and Jose Salazar went 2-4.

The box score for the DSL Pirates1 is not yet available.
