The Pirates have signed ninth-round draft pick Chad Kuhl and 19th-rounder Brett McKinney, both pitchers. Both will head to the Bucs' new short-season affiliate in Jamestown.
Kuhl from the University of Delaware, is probably the more interesting of the two; BA ranked him the No. 365 prospect in the draft, and he's a junior. He's a sinkerballer. Kuhl's bonus hasn't yet been reported, but the pool value for his pick was $145,200. (UPDATE: Kohl gets precisely $145,200.) McKinney, as a late-round pick and a college senior (out of Ohio State), is unlikely to be a prospect or to have received a significant bonus.
