Six hits for Willy Garcia and six RBIs for Josh Harrison

Monday's games:

-- Indianapolis beat Charlotte, 10-5. Andy Oliver had a decent game, but still had some control issues early. He lasted seven innings, throwing 109 pitches. He gave up three runs on five hits and four walks, and fanned six. Vic Black made his first appearance since missing over a month with an oblique strain. He went one inning and allowed two unearned runs on two hits. He struck out two and threw 15 of 24 pitches for strikes. Josh Harrison went 3-5 with a double, two triples and six RBIs, and Alex Presley went 2-5 with his sixth HR. Jose Tabata started in right and went 1-2 with a walk and a steal.

-- Altoona split a doubleheader with New Britain. The Curve lost game one, 6-4, with all the runs scoring in a six-run 2nd against Eliecer Navarro, who was making his second AA start. Navarro recovered to go six innings, allowing six hits and three walks, and striking out five. Drew Maggi, Adalberto Santos, Alex Dickerson, Charlie Cutler and Andy Vasquez each had two hits, but Altoona left ten runners on base.

In game two, Ethan Hollingsworth and Luis Sanz combined on a two-hit shutout as the Curve won, 2-0. Hollingsworth allowed only one hit and one walk in six innings, and fanned four. Gift Ngoepe hit his third HR. Gregory Polanco sat out the twinbill, as did Mel Rojas, Jr., who is on the DL with an oblique injury.

-- Willy Garcia (pictured) went 6-6 and hit a game-winning, two-run HR in the top of the 12th to lead Bradenton to a 6-4 win over St. Lucie. Garcia's HR was his tenth and he also had a double. Stetson Allie went 3-5 with a walk and a strikeout, and Alen Hanson went 1-5 with a double and a walk. Starter Zack Dodson allowed two runs over six innings on seven hits and two walks. He struck out two.

-- West Virginia dropped a 12-5 game to Hagerstown. The Power led 3-0 after five, but Clario Perez, Bryton Trepagnier and Pat Ludwig combined to allow 12 runs in four and a third innings. Starter Jason Creasy allowed no runs in four and two-thirds. He gave up four hits and two walks, and struck out three. Barrett Barnes, Jordan Steranka and Kawika Emsley-Pai each had two hits. Dilson Herrera went 1-5 with a double and Josh Bell returned to the lineup to go 1-4 with a walk.

-- Jamestown lost to State College, 6-0. Dovydas Neverauskas failed to get out of the 1st inning, recording only two outs while giving up four runs, two earned, on two hits, a walk and two hit batsmen. Shane Carle did better in his second pro appearance than in his first, allowing just a solo HR in three innings, with two strikeouts. Jamestown had just two hits, singles by Edwin Espinal and Jesus Vasquez.

-- The GCL Pirates beat the Blue Jays, 6-5, despite allowing 11 walks in the last five innings. Before the walkathon started, Adrian Grullon threw four shutout innings, allowing two hits and no walks, and fanning seven. Hayden Hurst, who signed for an above-slot bonus last year, made his pro debut by following Grullon and walking five of the six hitters he faced. He also threw two wild pitches. Thanks to a caught stealing, that amounted to just one run. Four other relievers also struggled in various ways until Roberto Espinosa fanned the one hitter he faced to end the game. Candon Myles led the offense, going 3-4 with a double.

-- The DSL Pirates1 dropped the Phillies, 6-2. Starter Ramon Rodriguez allowed one run on three hits and no walks over five innings. He struck out two. Yunelky Adames went 2-2 with a double and three RBIs. Johan De Jesus went 1-3 with a double.
