Nick Kingham, Gregory Polanco and Alen Hanson have made the Florida State League All-Star Game, which will be played June 15.
Kingham, 21, has been the Marauders' best pitcher (well, maybe along with Eliecer Navarro, although Kingham is a far better prospect), striking out 68 batters in 59.1 innings. Polanco is in the midst of a repeat of his 2012 breakout season at West Virginia, hitting .321/.379/.497 so far. Hanson has struggled defensively this year, but he's hit very well since an awful April.
This year's Bradenton team shows the retention rates of many low-minors prospects -- a lot of its players (Willy Garcia, Jose Osuna, Quinton Miller, everyone named Zack or Zac) looked interesting a year or two ago but have struggled this year, but the Pirates are still likely to get maybe two good players out of Polanco, Kingham and Hanson, which makes the misses a lot easier to take.
