Pimentel pitches well, H.Ramirez goes deep

West Virginia was rained out on Friday.

-- Indianapolis was edged by Gwinnett, 4-3. Stolmy Pimentel had a good start, but his defense let him down. He allowed four runs in seven innings, but two were unearned due to errors by Tony Sanchez and Russ Canzler, who was playing third. Pimentel gave up five hits and two walks, fanned seven, and threw 69 of 105 pitches for strikes. Canzler and Matt Hague each went 2-4. Neil Walker went 0-3 in his first rehab game.

-- Altoona came back from a 4-0 deficit to beat Erie, 7-4. Everybody in the Curve's lineup had one hit except Adalberto Santos, who went 0-2 with two walks, and Oscar Tejeda, who went 2-4 with four RBIs. Gregory Polanco went 1-3 with a walk. Four Altoona relievers, all with ERAs between 5.34 and 9.39 coming in, combined for five scoreless innings.

The Marauders took game two in a 10-1 rout. Allie went 3-4 with a double and three RBIs. After a rough start, his line at Bradenton is up to 268/379/423. Junior Sosa and Jacob Stallings each went 2-3. Hanson went 1-2 with a walk and two steals, then came out of the game. Dan Gamache went 2-4. Thomas Harlan struck out four in three scoreless innings of relief.

-- Jamestown won in dramatic fashion over Connecticut, 10-9. The Jammers blew a 1st-inning, 6-1 lead against an extremely weak-hitting team, but came back to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th on a two-out, RBI triple by Erich Weiss. They then loaded the bases in the 10th with no outs. Harold Ramirez and Danny Collins both struck out, but Jeff Roy hit a walk-off single. Weiss went 4-5 with two triples overall, and Roy went 3-5. He now has 18 hits in his last 31 ABs and is batting .340 overall, although with very little power. Ramirez went 2-6 with his second HR and Adam Frazier went 2-4 with two walks.

-- The GCL Pirates lost to the Tigers, 4-1. The Pirates had no hits until Reese McGuire doubled in the 7th. He finished 2-4 and Austin Meadows 0-3 with a walk. Blake Taylor allowed one run in three innings on two hits and one walk. He struck out none.
