Ken Rosenthal writes that the Pirates are interested not only in Nate Schierholtz (we knew that already, obviously), but another Cubs outfielder, David DeJesus.
DeJesus recently returned from a shoulder sprain. Like Schierholtz, he's a left-handed who's under team control at a reasonable cost through next year. Also like Schierholtz, he hits well enough to be an asset, particularly given his above-average defense. The Cubs have sounded at times like they intended to keep DeJesus, thinking he was a good clubhouse guy. My guess is that they would rather trade Schierholtz, but either one would address the Pirates' needs.
