A.J. Burnett returns this afternoon, and so do I. After two weeks away, it's nice to be back in front of a computer. I was getting a little antsy not being able to work.
In my absence, of course, the Pirates continued a nine-game winning streak, then won just one of three against the Phillies and one of two so far against the Cubs. I was sorry I was missing the winning streak, and also weirdly grateful when it ended, since I'm sure the more superstitious of you would have blamed me if my return had in any way coincided with the end of the winning streak.
Anyway, to make way for Burnett, the Pirates optioned Ryan Reid -- who filled in admirably in his month with the big club -- to Triple-A. The game starts at 2:20.
