Three XBHs for Rojas, strong game for Creasy

A full slate on Thursday:

-- Indianapolis lost to Columbus, 4-2.  Stolmy Pimentel got through eight innings on just 97 pitches, 65 of them strikes.  That's his fourth outing of his last nine in which he's gone seven or more innings, which is a significant step forward from earlier in the year, when he wasn't always throwing a lot of strikes.  He gave up three runs on five hits and a walk, and struck out two.  Robert Andino went 3-4 with a double.

-- Altoona shut out Portland, 2-0, as David Bromberg allowed just two hits and a walk over eight innings.  He fanned seven.  Mel Rojas, Jr. (pictured), went 3-4 with two doubles and a triple.  Alen Hanson went 2-4 and Gregory Polanco 1-2 with a walk.

-- Bradenton fell behind, 4-0, but came back to edge Palm Beach, 5-4.  Joely Rodriguez allowed only three hits and two walks in five innings, but two of the hits left the park, accounting for all four runs.  He struck out four.  Stetson Allie hit his second HR in as many days, his fourth for the Marauders.  Taylor Lewis had two triples.

-- West Virginia dropped a 1-0 game to Greensboro.  Jason Creasy had a good start, allowing six hits, one a solo HR, in six innings.  He walked none and fanned eight.  The Power had just three singles and struck out 15 times.  Josh Bell went 0-2 with two walks and Dilson Herrera 0-3 with one walk.

-- Jamestown lost to Batavia, 4-2.  Chad Kuhl gave up three runs, two earned, in five innings on five hits.  He didn't walk or strike out anybody.  Buddy Borden pitched in his third pro game, giving up a run on two hits and striking out four in two innings.  Justin Maffei had three hits and Jeff Roy two, and Harold Ramirez went 1-4 with a double.

-- The GCL Pirates lost to the Phillies, 4-3.  The Bucs got all of their runs, including Ulises Montilla's first HR, off Roy Halladay, who made a six-inning rehab start.  Austin Meadows went 0-2 with two walks and Reese McGuire went 2-4.  Trae Arbet had a triple in four ABs.  Wei-Chung Wang gave up two runs in five innings.  He allowed four hits, walked none and fanned four.

-- The DSL Pirates1 beat the Marlins, 6-1.  Rudy Guzman went 2-4 with a triple and Deybi Garcia 2-4 with a double.  Starter Jandy Vasquez allowed just an unearned run in five innings, and Arquimedes Lorenzo allowed no runs in four.

-- The DSL Pirates2 allowed eight runs in the 8th to blow a 10-2 lead, then beat the Mets1, 11-10, with a run in the bottom of the 9th.  Jose Salazar had three hits and Alexis Bastardo, Gustavo Barrios and Jhoan Herrera each had two.  Michael De La Cruz went 0-4 but drew two walks.  Starter Eduardo Vera threw five shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks.  He fanned five.
